WODEN is a Scandinavian brand that stands for Works of Denmark with a focus on Scandinavian design values, natural quality materials and great value for money. We believe in products and people, which means our footwear is carefully designed and produced by passionate and skilled craftsmen. Fashion, functionality and anatomy are essential elements of the WODEN DNA, ensuring footwear that is carefully adapted to urban life.

WODEN was founded in 2013 by Carsten Holm, a shoemaker with a long history in the shoe industry, who knew that nature and Scandinavian design tradition combined with high quality at an affordable price would be the right starting point for creating fashionable footwear. It is this focus on sustainability and quality that defines our concept, Scandinavian Simplicity.

With respect for the environment and surroundings, we work with a responsible approach: REDUCE. REUSE. RECYCLE.
We want to be more than just footwear. We always strive to push the boundaries of how shoes can be constructed with a focus on giving our products a greener footprint. That's why we've extensively replaced synthetic materials in favor of fishing leathers like WODEN DNA, a minimum of 10% recycled rubber in our outsoles and eco-friendly cork soles inside all shoes. Every WODEN sneaker consists of more than 115 components from different facilities. We manufacture our products in factories that are long-term partners, ensuring they comply with all industry standards and strict quality assurance protocols. Most of our production takes place in China, while selected smaller collections are produced in collaboration with our partners in Europe.
